Also used for dyeing silk and silk flowers in very brilliant colours.

MATERIALS: for every 100g of dry material weight you need...
1 - 3 grams of dye
1.5 - 2 litres of water
1 teaspoon of Acetic acid 30%
METHOD:
Soak the fibre to be dyed until wet through. Drip off or wring out excess. Put to one side.
Dissolve dye in a little boiling water and add to the bulk of cold water and stir.
Add acetic acid and stir.
Add fibre to dyepot and stir. Slowly bring to the boil. Stirring occasionally. Maintain at boil for 30 minutes.
Remove dyepot from heat, but leave the fibre in the dye to cool.
Once cool, rinse well.
Silk , wood & dried flowers need only a short immersion.
